Job Description:

The position is responsible for the day-to-day activities relating to aircraft turnaround services (aircraft loading & unloading), ensuring that strategic plans and targets set by the Chief Operating Officer, Ground & Cargo Services, and Head of Ramp & Baggage Services, are delivered to meet set objectives.

He/she is accountable for the delivery of aircraft turnaround services to dnata’s customer’s airlines at Changi Airport on a 24 hours basis, ensuring high performance in the key areas of; Safety, Service Quality, Efficiency & Cost Effectiveness, Controllable Delays, and Staff Satisfaction. The Aircraft Turnaround business unit includes, but is not limited to, aircraft loading & unloading activities, technical services (ASU, GPU, ACU, TSU, and aircraft towing and pushback), cabin appearance, and management of the on-shift team of Duty Managers.

Requirements

• Minimum Degree or Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution

• Minimum 8 years relevant industry experience preferably with a ground services provider, airline, or airport operator at a management level

• Must have 3 years of managerial experience, knowledge of Airplane Health Management (AHM), IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and Changi Airport Group (CAG) standards and regulations would be a distinct advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Responsible for the overall management of the operations teams and the accompanying support structure including support to the Head of Ramp & Baggage Services in the areas of; employee budgeting, recruitment, and selection, discipline, performance management, training, and development

• Evaluates business objectives and accordingly proposes the sectional resources budget for manpower, equipment, etc. with recommendations to Head of Ramp & Baggage Services.

• Manages resources to ensure delivery standards are maintained within the key parameters of Safety, Security, and budget restrictions. Monitor variances of actual to budget in all areas and takes timely remedial action

• Ensure that service standards meet the requirements of both dnata and customer airlines.

• Responsible for auditing operations activities against delivery standards, ensuring services provided are in line with agreed customer airline requirements (SLA), safety and security parameters, and dnata performance targets. Receives discrepancy reports, conducts analyses, and provides recommendations wherever necessary to ensure that standards are continually maintained. Ensures that timely responses are sent to customer airlines in the event of delays, service failures, or safety incidents.

• Develop and maintain own department continuity plans including dnata Crisis Management Plan, Business Continuity Plan, and Evacuation Plan. Continual review and adjustment of the plan to accommodate the change. Ensures the safety of staff, equipment, and facilities in accordance with corporate, local, and international standards. Promote a safety culture within the business unit to continually raise awareness and motivate safe behaviors.

• Maintain proficiencies through a program of refresher training and audit.

• Where appropriate or delegated, represent Company as directed as a stakeholder at Singapore Airport consultative committees and with other external bodies. Develop and promote working relationships through internal and external communications.

• Provide support for the department’s human resource plan. Create an environment that is conducive to the growth of a company workforce.
